Crazy Marraige and Divorce Stats

I have always been a little critical about the Utah Marraige and Mating Customs.

People try to argue with me about it to and I always say although Utah has a high marraige rate, it also has a high divorce rate (even though I really didn't have all my facts, now I do and I was right).
In general, only 50% of marraiges in the U.S. are even successful and when I say successful I mean couples that don't get divorced. That does not account for the wives and husbands that kill their spouses, or beat their spouses or wait until their spouse keils over on their own to find real happiness in their lives. I'm not being pessimistic, I'm just stating the facts.

The facts are:
Number of marriages: 2,077,000
Marriage rate: 6.8 per 1,000 total population
Divorce rate: 3.4 per 1,000 population (44 reporting States and D.C.)
And Utah is in the top 40 percentile of the highest divorce rates in the States.

Now the typical Utah customs of marraige and mating, in my opinion, probably have something to do with this.
I am not saying that these customs are what everyone does or believes, and I'm not saying these customs don't bring happiness and good fortune to some that participate in them.
The customs are:
Men are typically married by age 26
Women are typically married by age 22

I know some very successful marraiges that have taken place between a man who was 21 and a women who was 18 or 19 years old, but as far as the standards and customs and ideas of the rest of the U.S. go... that seems a little crazy.
I am twenty years old now and there is no way that I am ready to be wed for all time and eternity... THAT'S A LONG TIME, a lot of responsibility, that's just a lot to handle in general.
I mean I can't say how I will feel even a year from now, but people who get married and start having kids at the age of 18. People you are still a kid at 18 and many teen moms will tell, that is some hard stuff and you have to grow up a bit faster than you may like or be able to.
I'm just saying wait til you're ready peeps. These are the facts and I stated my opinion. And that's all I can say.
