Vegetarian

Interesting facts. I had no idea there were so many types of vegetarian. I thought there were like 8 or 9 but after some research, I've found up to 14 types of vegetarian. I research the most random things. But I love learning about vegetarian stuff, just so I don't sound like a complete fool when I explain my own dietary lifestyle. (For the explanation, look for a previous blog post entitled "Lacto-ovo Vegetarianism", dated: Saturday October 24, 2009)

So, from the most extreme to the least extreme...

The types of Vegetarian include:

Raw Vegan:includes only fresh and uncooked fruit, nuts, seeds, and vegetables. Vegetables can only be cooked up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit.

Macrobiotic Vegetarian:includes only whole grains and beans.

Fruitatarian:includes only fruit. some only eat fruit that fell naturally and was not picked from the plant.

Vegan:excludes all animal flesh and animal products, including milk, honey, and eggs, and may also exclude any products tested on animals, or any clothing from animals.

Su Vegetarian: Vegetarian but also excludes onion, garlic, scallions, leeks, or shallots. Su Vegetarians are usually Hindu or Buddhist.

Total Vegetarian: excludes all animal flesh and animal products with the exception of honey and similar things.

Lacto Vegetarian: excludes all animal flesh and animal products with the exception of honey and similar things, aswell as milk and dairy products, not including eggs.

Ovo Vegetarian: excludes all animal flesh and animal products with the exception of honey and similar things, aswell as eggs.

Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian: a lacto and ovo vegitarian combo. excludes all animal flesh and animal products with the exception of honey and similar things, aswell as milk and dairy products, including eggs.

Pescotarian: excludes all animal flesh with the exception of fish and other seafood.

Pollotarian: excludes all animal flesh with the exception of poultry and fowl.

Semi Vegetarian: a pescotarian and pollotarian combo. excludes all animal flesh with the exception of fish, other seafood, poultry and fowl. no red meat or pork or etc.

Flexitarian: any type of vegetarian that makes other exceptions when it comes to animal flesh and products according to the situation and circustances.

Fascinating right? maybe not. maybe you feel like reading that was pointless but hey, atleast you understand a little bit someone else...? love you lots. peace.
